Sugar Doll Award

I was given this Sugar Doll Award by my friend Maria . I am truly flattered to be given this. I dont know the rules or restrictions. Apparently I am suppose to list 10 things about myself. So here goes. ...

1) I had never had a real boyfriend until earlier this year. I was never much of a dater or person who is very social so its been hard to find someone to accept all my traits and flaws and accepts me for me. Yes, the relationship didnt last long, but I'm still grateful I met him.
2) I went years without wearing any kind of dresses/skirts. Its true and I have written about it before. After my high school graduation, I had not worn any dress or skirt for about 7 years. It wasn't until recently that I had to courage to wear these girly items. I think it was seeing all these wonderful couragious out going women blogging about their fashion adventures that made me want to break my dress ban.
3) I'm a lazy reader, and in high school would read cliff notes of a book if I didnt get to finish the entire book. When it comes to reading for long periods of time, I get bored and easily distracted. And it was an easily accessible solution to my problem. I know, I know, I was a bad girl. LOL.
4) I dont like tomato or onion in my food. Which is funny because they are key ingredients in many Mexican dishes and I grew up with that food. I know they are important in the cooking process for flavoring purposes but that doesn't mean I have to actually chew and ingest them. LOL
5) I dont realy like sweets. A little bit of chocolate is ok every once in a while, but like a chocolate cake with chocolate frosing and sprinkles or flakes is way too much sweet for me. I prefer sour candies and bitter tasting things like pickles, lemon, or chile powder on fruit. I have wierd taste buds I guess.
6) Im a college graduate with a bachelors degree in biology, yet am working reception for a doctors office. Kinda sad, but its my life right now. I'll eventually look into going back for a higher degree or a higher classified job, but for now I am ok with where I am at in life, and that is all that matters.
7) I like WWE wrestling. Dont laugh! I know its criticized so much. I admit the story lines are so ridiculous and the moves are pre-planned and practiced, but its like any other stunt done for entertainment purposes. Thats why its called sports entertainment and it really is only for entertainment purposes, like a soap opera where the characters just so happen to be half naked throwing each other from high ropes and smacking each other willingfully. Its what I call FUN! :) Perhaps I am a bit violent Tee Hee Hee.
8) In my car....I can go from head banging to some rock music, grooving to some hip-hop/R&B, shake to some reggaeton. I love music in general and I can find the good in all genre. As long as the beat/rythm and lyrics are catchy and creative/interesting, its all good in my book!
9) I still have a few stuffed animals in my room. Again, don't laugh at me. I know I'm very immature, but I still have a few "toys" in my room. I tried getting rid of them, but I'm too much of a pack rat and dont like to get rid of things that have some kind of memory attached to them. Hence why I have so much junk just around my room.
10) I dont know how to swim. I attempted to learn as a younger kid, but I guess it just never was my talent. And plus our family didn't go very often to a pool or lake where swimming would be a needed skill, so I just went about not worried about learning how to swim or not.

I wont even pass this on, because I'm not sure if anyone even reads this blog other than the one who gave this to me in the first place,
Maria. But to anyone who reads this, I dedicate this long rambling blog to you all. Thanks for sticking around and reading about my lame stories and long ramblings. It's therapeutic to blog and it's warming to know that there are others out there who care to offer advice or comments on your thoughts and words.

Thanks again for this award, and thanks for reading my ramblings. I appreciate your reading and support.

ouchies..

I walked about 2 miles yesterday with two ingrown toenails and let me tell you, I am in pain today. Thing is, I did it voluntarily. I've been trying to lose weight cause I'm apparently 37 lbs over the "ideal" weight, but lets not get into that cause I can go on and on about how there is no "normal" or "ideal" size. Thats topic for another blog. Anyways, I went to the park to walk around the trail and I was happy that I did as much as I did, but now Im hurting. I knew my toes hurt prior, but noooooo I just had to go. Dummy me :\

last night...

So I'm alive ya'll!!!
LOL I wasn't kidnapped after all. What a relief! :)
Last night's [date] was good. It was thursday night so the traffic wasn't too bad and the restraunt (Chili's) wasn't too busy either. We had a pretty good conversation which got pretty interestingly funny and awkward and confusing at times, LOL. We went from talking about our families and jobs, to how we're both picky eaters when it comes to shoveling off the tomato/chive toppings, to career goals and aspirations, homeless people, and somehow mammary glands? I know I know, I'm kind of a wierd person, but it was an entertaining conversation to say the least. The food was ok, the wierd orange powder on top the mashed potatos was iffy, melted cheese was not melted, and the blackberry tea was crap. But other than that it was yummy :)
I won't bore you with all the boring convo details...besides I don't kiss and tell...LMFAO I'm kidding, I'm kidding. seriously. I'm a good girl. :)
Quick question, if he paid for dinner, does that make it a date date? I'm still unsure.

Anyways, afterwards we went outside and it was wierd to just be standing around in the parking lot at night so we sat in my car...facing NW loop 410. I am not kidding you, we saw this skinny dude who was obviously either high or drunk, walking along the sidewalk stumbling onto the street on occasion, and just strolling along the highway with cars honking at him if he was on the street. I thought we were about to witness him get hit by a car but he turned the corner and we never saw him again. Also funny to note that the security truck of the mall area kept slowing down to check us out. Something about me and sitting in a car in a parking lot that always attracts security people, that always happened with my ex too. I guess I give off a vibe of crime/lewd behavior. (O_o) Maybe its my black SUV with tinted windows that gives off that vibe. My ride is bad ass I know it, even with my hello kitty decal on the back window and rosaries hanging from the rear view mirror and a miniature kung fu panda doll on the front dashboard. But now I'm going off topic, so yeah....I dont know why that always happens.

Anyways, I had fun, I'd like to do it again, but what is that stupid rule about the guy not calling until 2-3 days later. Haha, I dont know the rules to "dating" so I'm just gonna go with the flow and deal with it as it comes. I DO have another date tonight....with my niece LOL. We're suppose to go see Robin Hood tonight so that will be fun. She is 17 year old and such a girly gossip girl. It should be a fun girls night out.
Until next time my lovelies....laterz

score one for MERRY

So I think I might have a [date] tomorrow night. It's one of those "lets hang out" kind of things so I won't even call it a [date]. I'm just glad I can have a lil distraction from my boring life and just be a normal woman out and about in the city. I know, I know, I'm not normal, but I can at least pretend to be :) It's kind of a blind [date] too. It's nerve wrecking enough to be out, now I gotta worry about being kidnapped. LOL I gotta remember to take my pepper spray and a tank full of gas in case I need to make a quick get a way. LOL hopeful I will survive the night in one piece and live to tell the story. Wish me luck. (^_^)

a good day!

Just wanted to add on to the previous post about mother's day. It was actually a pretty cool day in the morning with a few drizzles, then got a bit hot and sticky, but still good weather. I wore a funky skirt to church and just stayed in it all day. Brown and black are neutral colors right. I was actually comfortable so that was good. Of coarse I had to change out of the heels which I wore for like 1.5 hours and instead used my brown cowboy boots the rest of the day LOL. Went to Wal-Mart and Ross, my two worst enemies when I'm on a budget. I bought some necessities and some not so necessary must-haves. I gotta learn how to control my random buying of crap I don't need or won't use. Come on..a strapless shirt, some shorts, yet another wallet, a hot pink purse (still weary about that one) and a shower mat. Really??? I could have done without that stuff but I was feeling happy and buying pretty things makes me happier. I should have gone in my heels, that way I'd be dying to get back home quickly. I did end up switching back the the heels for a bit in the afternoon. Im still battling an ingrown toe nail so I was barely keeping it together. But I'm a though girl and I lasted a whole 20 min. :-) HAHAA
So overall a GOOD day!

MAMI's day!

Today is Mother's Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the most important woman in many people's life..their mother. A person's mother is sacred. She is always perfect in our eyes, and even if you dont have the best of relationship with her, you have to at least realize that you are here on this earth because of her...and for that she must be celebrated.

I love my mom. We're very close and have a close friendship, but I love her most for everything she has done for me and my siblings and for always being there to protect and guide us through our life, and above all for having Love for us always. I am lucky to still have both my parents with me, and I hope my mother knows just how important she really is to all our family.
The day started off with us my parents, my brother, my sister, 2 nieces and I went to the early mass followed by going out to eat at a local mexican restraunt. It was good times, good company and good food, so no one was complaining :)

Then in the afternoon, like for every holiday/event/birthday party, all our family gets together at my parents house and celebrate whatever occasion it is. I felt bad that my mom was cooking, but for real...she hates to have anyone else in the kitchen and even tells us to get out if anyone tries to help her with the main dishes. She's stubborn and she wants her way, but aren't most moms like that..LOL...Anyways she made carne guisada and rice and beans....and it was yummy.

Since most of my immediate family was there (parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews) I took the opportunity to take some family pics. These first few pics are of my mother and my sisters and I. All of my sisters are older and have their own kids too. I'm the youngest of them all and the one who has yet to get married nor has any children. I'm very much so the one lagging behind, but mehhh I'm in no rush :) Anyways, they all had their kids there too (my nieces/nephews) all ranging in ages from 6 to 22. These are the guys in the family with my mom, minus one brother and the step-brothers. Then the pic with the young girls, minus a few other nieces and my sisters and I.

It's always a good time when everyone gets together and just be ONE UNIT. I know my mom loves to have everyone near and so do I. Anyways, this mother's day was a good one. Technically...since my mother is Mexican, and May 10th is the official Mother's Day in Mexico, we should be celebrating tomorrow. Heck I'm all for another party, but people work and kids have school so it works out just fine. Mother dearest got some good presents too. I bought her a purse and a skirt since she doesn't usually spend money on herself. I better see her using them and not stored in a closet somewhere LOL. But she looked happy so I was happy as well.
TE AMO PARA SIEMPRE MAMA!
Y GRACIAS POR TODO LO QUE HAZ HECHO!

last night !

Last night I went to this latin night club Noche Caliente with my friend Maria (http://txlovelifeandfashion.blogspot.com/) to see DJ FLEX live. I had never been there so I didnt know what to expect but it was a cool place I guess. We got there RIDICULOUSLY early, kinda my fault cause I thought the concert was gonna start earlier but as it turns out it didnt start til midnight....Oops sorry Maria XD. I'm not much of a club-er or party-er so I just sat at our table, but still...fun times. It was kinda slow early on, but I guess as more people got loose or just buzzed, more people were dancing around. Reggaeton and cumbia and bachata all mixed. Latinos sure do know how to shake the bootay I'll tell you that. Hahaha. I kinda wish I had someone "special" to hang out that night with but ohh well I'm used to it by now. The music was enough to entertain me for the night. I usually DONT dance, but I sneaked in a few lil head bobbs and mini stealth grooves to the music LOL. I'm slowly but surely coming out of my shell. I even had a drink, a girly drink, but still it was something. DJ FLEX was really good too, I love his music and I'm glad I got to see him in person :) His whole theme to his songs is "romantic style in da world" so they are all love and romance oriented. "Te Quiero" "Te Amo" "Besos de Amor" and so on. When your in love, you feel so connected to the songs, but when your heart-broken it kinda stings to hear those songs and remember your past love. But then you just look at the hot cutie latinos on stage and then you feel good again LOL ;) All in all, it was a fun night, and Maria you and your husband are so funny and cute together. You should let him join you in your pictures since he loves to come out in the background of other peoples' pics LOL. But for real, I had a good time and I'm glad we went. Your a blast, we gotta do it again sometime!

LOS suns!

I just wanted to make note of the Phoenix Suns who have decided to wear their "LOS SUNS" latin jerseys for tonight's game 2 against my San Antonio Spurs. Its a clear message in support of the latin community there in Arizona and I think alot of people are gonna be commenting on it, whether it be good or bad. The new immigration law that was signed into law in Arizona is somewhat of a hot topic right now. I for one, understand both sides of the argument and know the urgent need for some sort of immigration reform, but this law caught us all off guard and its tough, discriminating, somewhat legal-racial profiling nature of the law is what turns me against it. How can you honestly know who is suspect of being an illegal without making assumptions and racially profiling the person. Yes there are many illegal immigrants in Arizona who do need to be dealt with, but in terms of helping them to either become legal or at least put them into some sort of system that would track them and their activities. There are also many legal Mexican-Americans who even though they are legal, look and talk just as the illegals do. There are bound to be issues with civil liberties in carrying out the new law. How can you not mistake someone who is legal with the ones who are not. I myself am a product of illegal immigration. My parents came here illegally from Mexico nearly 30 years ago, but they were given the chance to become legal after many years of hard work and now they are here legally. That is what we need. We cannot deny that the illegals that already do work in the US help our economy more than we realize. We need to help those who are already here to become legal, and make it easier for those wanting to come here legally. As for the illegal drug lords and criminals, boot their ass out and let them rot in their own countrys' jails. LOL this is where I can be attacked by saying how can you boot them out if you dont look for them and question their legal status like the new law says. Well its a work in progress, but thats why we need a national immigration reform to help define all these categories and make guidelines on how to deal with it all. Im just saying it would be best to help the genuinely hard working illegals to become legal which has worked for my family in the past so why not now.
Geezzz, I sure can ramble on about nothing and end up with such a vague conclusion LOL. It started off as a comment about some basketball jerseys and went on and on about a vague idea...wow...ok enough for now...
ohh and by the way.....GO SPURS GO!

new style? LOL

Sooooo...how is this for a new hair style?

LMFAO!!!

I was bored and goofing around with the web cam, but I think I look young enough to maybe get into the movies at a discounted price...dont you think LOL.

clubbing...alone?

I have a lil bit of a dilemma. I really really wanna go to this latin concert to see DJ FLEX on cinco de may (tomorrow) but its gonna be at this night club Noche Caliente. I have never been there, nor any club. I don't have anyone who would go with me, so my issue...shall I dare to go alone. I've been to concerts alone before, but this is a whole different scene. It's kinda wierd (and dangerous?) for a single girl to be alone in a room full of drunken latinos dancing around...isn't it?? LOL, IDK....what do I do

dumped as a friend

So I met this guy online who is in my city and seemed like a cool guy to be friends with. I was clear that I wasn't looking for a BF and just was looking to make friends, and he understood, or at least I thought so. He was nice and funny too, so when he asked me to go see a movie with him I agreed. This was thursday night, saw the midnight screening of Nighmare on Elm Street (good movie by the way, but not scary enough for me. I was semi laughing throughout the movie, he was a lil scared though LOL) Anyways, after the movie we talked for a few minutes outside and then we each went our own way. I thought, wow I have a friend in the city I can finally just hang out with. But friday afternoon he asks me what I thought of him. I said that he was a nice person but not the type I would date, but that I'd like to have him as a friend like we had talked about. Well, he said "Thanks for the honesty, I appreciate it...I'm not looking for a friend but it was very nice to have met you and good luck in all your endeavors :) Have a good night and take care "

I was surprised, how can someone at first say its cool to be friends, then turn around and say they don't even want that. WOW, is this what the dating game is like. I dont really have much experience, but it is really that difficult to be friends with someone of the opposite sex. This is literally like the 5th time (2 actual relationships, and the rest possibilities but never actually realized) that someone "dumps" me as a friend saying they don't wanna be friends afterwards, or say they will but dont really. GEEEZZZZ :(
I have one more "friend" that I still have hope in, but I'm not gonna give my hopes up.
