Today is Mother's Day, a day to recognize and celebrate the most important woman in many people's life..their mother. A person's mother is sacred. She is always perfect in our eyes, and even if you dont have the best of relationship with her, you have to at least realize that you are here on this earth because of her...and for that she must be celebrated.
I love my mom. We're very close and have a close friendship, but I love her most for everything she has done for me and my siblings and for always being there to protect and guide us through our life, and above all for having Love for us always. I am lucky to still have both my parents with me, and I hope my mother knows just how important she really is to all our family.
The day started off with us my parents, my brother, my sister, 2 nieces and I went to the early mass followed by going out to eat at a local mexican restraunt. It was good times, good company and good food, so no one was complaining :)
Then in the afternoon, like for every holiday/event/birthday party, all our family gets together at my parents house and celebrate whatever occasion it is. I felt bad that my mom was cooking, but for real...she hates to have anyone else in the kitchen and even tells us to get out if anyone tries to help her with the main dishes. She's stubborn and she wants her way, but aren't most moms like that..LOL...Anyways she made carne guisada and rice and beans....and it was yummy.
Since most of my immediate family was there (parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews) I took the opportunity to take some family pics. These first few pics are of my mother and my sisters and I. All of my sisters are older and have their own kids too. I'm the youngest of them all and the one who has yet to get married nor has any children. I'm very much so the one lagging behind, but mehhh I'm in no rush :) Anyways, they all had their kids there too (my nieces/nephews) all ranging in ages from 6 to 22. These are the guys in the family with my mom, minus one brother and the step-brothers. Then the pic with the young girls, minus a few other nieces and my sisters and I.
It's always a good time when everyone gets together and just be ONE UNIT. I know my mom loves to have everyone near and so do I. Anyways, this mother's day was a good one. Technically...since my mother is Mexican, and May 10th is the official Mother's Day in Mexico, we should be celebrating tomorrow. Heck I'm all for another party, but people work and kids have school so it works out just fine. Mother dearest got some good presents too. I bought her a purse and a skirt since she doesn't usually spend money on herself. I better see her using them and not stored in a closet somewhere LOL. But she looked happy so I was happy as well.
TE AMO PARA SIEMPRE MAMA!
Y GRACIAS POR TODO LO QUE HAZ HECHO!
